It Feels Like Christmas ....

This blog entry is going to archive some films and TV that celebrate the Christmas season or in other words provide links to what I can find streaming for free on the information superhighway
It has been noted folks enjoy watching the various versions of A Christmas Carol and here are some of the most well known. For now my descriptions of the films are very lacking in info and perhaps a comment or two from me will be added soon as I wanted to get this blog entry up and running.

Note Well: I wanted to link to a copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol but my avast anti virus was claiming it was blocking malware from the site. The Muppet version is one of my favorite spins on the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and I really wanted to place a link to the film on this blog entry.

Scrooge [1935] stars Seymour Hicks as Scrooge. This is the earliest version of Charles Dickens' tale that most folks remember.

A Christmas Carol [1938] This version of the tale of our favorite miser stars Reginald Owen in the title role.

Charles Dickens' The Christmas Carol [1949] This item was a 26 minute television special hosted and narrated by the one and only Vincent Price

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol [1962] The sight challenged cartoon character Mr. Magoo takes on the role of Scrooge. This version boasts several songs and is very enjoyable for young and old.

An American Christmas Carol [1979] Henry Winkler stars in this Americanized version of the timeless tale.

Mickey's Christmas Carol [1983] ---- Many years before Jim Carrey voiced Scrooge for Disney, Scrooge McDuck took his turn at the role. Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy as well as other famous characters have prominent roles in this version of the tale

The Real Ghostbusters [1986-1991 Cartoon] "X-Mas Marks the Spot": The fate of Christmas depends on the Ghostbusters filling in for the Scrooge's ghosts of Christmas past, present and future while Egon attempts to retrieve the real ghosts from the containment unit (who got there due to an error on our heroes' part).
